Project Description:
A farm house for a family who love Wood.
This home has a rich pallet of natural timber finishes used extensively inside and out.
Western Red Cedar, bevel backed weatherboards and exterior joinery, with a accent of Pyinkado Burmese ironwood used on the sills and Kitchen window bar.
The heart of the home is punctuated with a vaulted gable that traverses the house and is carried out to the verandah. Exposed Macrocarpa beams, rafters and trusses and a sarked vaulted ceiling, together with the beautiful deep burgundy Pyinkado flooring, create a warm encompassing heart to the home.
The Macrocarpa wall linings, kitchen cabinetry and inbuilt bookcase will take on some of the character of the inhabitants over time, as the home matures with the knocks and marks of active family living.
The walls themselves will tell ‘stories’ of the homes history.
