Our clients’ brief was to open up the living area and improve the access to the garden. They also expected the refurbished interiors to have an “apartment-feel” and allowing an “open living style” with lots of natural light.
All new elements are created in a selection of matching clear finished timbers.
Kwila timber-veneer joinery on the kitchen as well as on the long living room joinery unit, incorporating the gas fireplace and providing storage, was selected to correspond with the owners’ large antique display unit.
The new timber “bay window” addition on the garden elevation continues the timber theme.
The Kwila timber door joinery is combined with marine ply panelling. Cedar trims and fascias finish off the bay window and roof overhang.
Easy access is provided to the new timber decks with Vitex decking and Cedar batten balustrades. The wide steps lead down to the deck at garden level.
